Me and Development
The EU funds several different projects related to development and cooperation and is the most important donor and facilitator in terms of improving various infrastructures like roads, ICT and other government related missions. In Uganda, the projects are organised through a top down formation. The EU is especially important when it comes to increasing the capacity of public services. Good governance is improved through civic education, especially with regards to free and fair elections. The EU is also the biggest funder of the Electoral Commission.
Me and Africa
I wish to share the beauty of my home continent with the rest of the world. We are unique in terms of diversity, culture, and the presence of royal kingdoms and monarchies. Uganda is the pearl of Africa and there is lots to see when it comes to tourism. Wildlife Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda house 70 percent of the world's gorillas. These gorillas are the pride of Uganda, my home country. The rest of the continent also holds many opportunities to see the various flora and fauna, which are not found anywhere else in the world. Our food is also extremely varied and we take pride in the beauty of growing organic products. We have many fresh fruits, vegetables and other foods that are different compared to the produce from European countries.
Me and Journalism
The best part about being a journalist is seeing my story published in the news headlines. I like being "in the know" on things, meeting cool people, and having a story that touches people so much that it causes them to take action. Journalism is work with variety. It challenges me, allows me to gain recognition, and can make a difference, albeit every now and then. Journalism allows me to go to places one wouldn't normally have entree to. Being pretty knowledgeable within the journalism field gives you have the feeling that what you do matters, because you provide a valuable service.
