THE EUROPEAN JOURNALISM CENTRE
Since its inception back in 1992, the European Journalism Centre (EJC) has an excellent reputation as a trusted organiser of journalistic briefings, seminars, and similar journalistic events in Maastricht, Brussels or on location. Every year, far more than 1,000 journalists are trained under the supervision of experienced EJC course leaders, mostly on European topics, but also on change management issues in the media industry.
In recent years, the EJC has massively increased its involvement in online activities, with a particular focus on providing tools for journalistic work and in order to enable more and better media coverage and public awareness of European issues.
Most notably in the context at hand, the EJC is successfully running the project showcase website and social networking facility for the European Neighbourhood Journalism Network on behalf of EC DG EuropeAid . Other directly related activities include the website and forum eu4journalists.eu and the blogging and networking portal thinkaboutit.eu.
The EJC has ample in-house expertise for setting up thematic websites (including multimedia) and social networking fora, both with regard to technical development and maintenance as well as with the ongoing editorial management and moderation of such sites.
Prospective Internationale is an active player in the communication sector (TV, web, radio, print) and organizer of events focussing on development issues, youth and culture.
In recent years, Prospective Internationale has produced several projects in co-ooperation with the European Commission and other stakeholders:
